Hello! Potential Students of NoteFish’s online piano lessons.
My name is Marc Himebaugh, I am 64 years old and a borderline advanced, non-professional piano player, mostly classical with some jazz to spice up my playing. I was a piano student of Jordan Clawson for the last four years and three of those years we prototyped the online lesson concept that has matured to become NoteFish. The idea was born when my Saturday-only studio time availability and Jordan’s schedule weren’t matching up and I was unwilling to give up on such a great piano teacher.
While the technology is providing the tools to aid the NoteFish concept, the real skill is with Jordan Clawson. Even if your camera is not covering the whole of the piano, he will not only know what notes you played wrong or where your rhythm was off a bit, he can tell you what chord you played and what chord it should be just by listening to you. So the quality of his lesson with be equal if not better than what you get in a studio situation. One of the cool things Jordan does for students, is that he can write out helpful exercises related to the piece you are playing on the fly, using Sibelius notation software, display that mini-score for you on Skype and later send the exercise back to you via email. So online or in the studio you get a talented professional piano instructor who works with students interactively.
